The purpose of child parenting time is to make sure that both parents play a significant role in their child’s life. And even though being a parent is not easy and every parent makes mistakes, it is in your child’s best interest to have strong and loving relationship with each parent.
The following guidelines may be helpful in developing a child parenting (visitation) plan:
- Make sure your child has regular contact between both parents.
- Never verbally or physically attack your ex spouse in front of your child.
- If you are the custodial parent make sure your child is ready visitations and available at the designated time. If you are the non-custodial parent make sure you return your child at the agreed upon time.
- Allow for flexibility in the location of the visitation, such as the non-custodial parent’s home, or other agreed upon location as opposed to limiting the visitation to your child’s primary residence. Read More
